The Muslim Judicial Council and United Ulama Council Defy Legacy of Islam's Greatest Generations

Salaf's Timeless Wisdom Rejected: Companions, Successors, and Followers of Successors' Understanding of Islam Disregarded

The Divine Decree of the Day of Arafah and Eid al-Adha: A Refutation of Human Error

Allah, the Most High, ordains in His Eternal Book:

"The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation." (Qur’an 55:5)

This Divine decree underscores the celestial bodies' movement with absolute precision under Allah's command. The Day of Arafah is not subject to human whims or flawed interpretations; it is a day fixed by Divine Wisdom.

The Day of Arafah: A Divine Appointment

Allah has chosen the coordinates of Arafah, the time of Hajj, and the day itself as a universal pillar of Islam. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

"Hajj is Arafah." (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2975)

This means that the day when pilgrims stand at Arafah is the essence of Hajj, determining Eid al-Adha for the entire Ummah.

The Unity of the Ummah and the Error of Division

Allah commands in Surah Al-Imran (3:103):

"And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided."

The Day of Arafah manifests this unity. Millions gather in one place, at one time, under one Lord. Celebrating Eid on different days is a direct violation of this Divine principle.

The Fatal Error of the Muslim Judicial Council and United Ulama Council

These councils have erred by advocating Eid al-Adha celebration two days after Arafah, deviating from the Sunnah and consensus of the Salaf. Their arguments rely on:

1. Misinterpretation of Local Sighting – Local moon sightings override Arafah's global event.

2. Rejection of Universal Unity – Multiple Eids shatter Ummah cohesion.

3. Disregard for Divine Synchronization – Hajj and Eid are synchronized as one Ummah, one day.

Psychological Defense Mechanisms of These Councils

When confronted with truth, these councils employ:

1. Rationalization – "Differences in horizons" are valid, ignoring Arafah's universality.

2. Intellectual Arrogance – Dismissing Qur'anic and Sunnah evidence.

3. Appeal to Authority – Hiding behind institutional legitimacy.

4. Deflection – Accusing opponents of "causing fitnah."

Why Muslims Cannot Ignore the Day of Arafah

Ignoring Arafah means:

- Rejecting the Prophet's Sunnah.

- Disregarding global unity.

- Claiming human calculations are superior to Allah's Decree.

- Introducing bid’ah (innovation) by separating Hajj and Eid.

The Irrefutable Truth

There is no valid Islamic argument for celebrating Eid al-Adha on any day other than the day after Arafah. Scholars permitting this are in clear error, dividing the Ummah. The Qur'an and Sunnah are explicit:

Arafah is the pillar, and Eid follows it universally.

Whoever opposes this truth opposes Allah's Decree. Let the Ummah unite under Tawheed, follow Arafah as Eid's determinant, and abandon man-made divisions.

"And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows a path other than that of the believers—We will give him what he has taken and drive him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination." (Qur’an 4:115)

Surah 4. An-Nisaa', Ayah 135

O YOU who have attained to faith! Be ever steadfast in upholding equity, bearing witness to the truth for the sake of God, even though it be against your own selves or your parents and kinsfolk. Whether the person concerned be rich or poor, God's claim takes precedence over [the claims of] either of them.150 Do not, then, follow your own desires, lest you swerve from justice: for if you distort [the truth], behold God is indeed aware of all that you do!

"As the pens of the wise continue to carve the truth in the hearts of humanity, let it be known that the Divine Decree of the Day of Arafah and Eid al-Adha shall prevail, unshaken by the whims of human error. The Ummah shall unite under the banner of Tawheed, and the truth shall be upheld, for:

"The truth is from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters." (Qur'an 2:147)
